ISC Class 12 Artificial Intelligence Specimen Paper 2026-27
The ISC Class 12 Artificial Intelligence specimen papers are full-length practice papers written by the Future Topper team on the paper pattern set by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), for students appearing in the ISC board examination. They are built on the published Artificial Intelligence syllabus and its unit weightage, and show the type of questions, the internal choices and the marks carried by each question.
Artificial Intelligence is a new ISC elective. CISCE introduced it, alongside a separate Robotics elective, for Classes 11 and 12 from the 2025-26 session, so 2027 is the first year in which candidates sit the ISC Class 12 examination in the subject. The Class 12 course builds on Class 11 Python, statistics and data handling and moves on to neural networks, machine learning in practice and computer vision.
For Class 12 students, solving the Artificial Intelligence specimen papers is one of the most reliable ways to understand the board's expectations before the final exam. On this page you can download both ISC Class 12 Artificial Intelligence specimen paper PDFs, check the latest paper pattern, see which topics the paper tests and follow a practical plan to use the paper for maximum marks.

ISC Class 12 Artificial Intelligence Exam Pattern 2026-27
The Artificial Intelligence examination has a written theory paper set and marked by CISCE, and an internal assessment component completed in school. Our specimen papers follow the same structure.
Component | Marks | Duration |
Theory (Paper 1, written paper) | 70 | 3 hours |
Practical (Paper 2: practical examination 15, practical file 15) | 30 | Completed in school, with a Visiting Examiner |
How the Question Paper Is Structured
The 70 mark theory paper is in two Parts. Part I (20 marks) is compulsory: ten 1 mark questions, mostly multiple choice, and five 2 mark short answers spread across all five units. Part II (50 marks) has three Sections of 10 mark questions with internal choice: one of two from Section A (applications of AI, language processing and statistics), two of three from Section B (neural networks, machine learning and deep learning, and building them in Python) and two of three from Section C (machine learning in maintenance, fraud detection and medical diagnosis, and computer vision). The questions include Python output questions, calculations and case studies. CISCE publishes unit marks for the subject but no section layout that we could confirm, so this layout is our own, built from the ISC Computer Science Paper 1 pattern and the unit weightage.
Always read the instructions printed at the top of the specimen paper. They state which questions are compulsory, how many questions to attempt from each section and whether any special materials are allowed. We word them to match the board paper.
Topics Covered in the ISC Class 12 Artificial Intelligence Specimen Paper
Our specimen papers draw questions from across the prescribed Artificial Intelligence syllabus. The main areas you should be ready for are:
• Named entity recognition, extractive summarisation and spam detection
• Descriptive statistics, probability and the uniform, normal and binomial distributions
• Hypothesis testing, Type I and Type II errors, regression and correlation
• Artificial neural networks: neurons, layers, forward and backward propagation
• Multi-layer perceptrons, decision trees and convolutional neural networks
• Data preparation with NumPy, Pandas and scikit-learn: scaling, encoding, train and test split
• Building, training and tuning models in Keras: epochs, batch size, grid and random search
• Evaluation with accuracy, precision and recall
• Machine learning for predictive maintenance, fraud detection and medical diagnosis
• Computer vision with OpenCV: classification, detection, face recognition, colour detection, tracking
For the complete unit-wise list with sub-topics, read the ISC Class 12 Artificial Intelligence Syllabus.
Why You Should Solve the Artificial Intelligence Specimen Paper
• Understand the paper design: you see the order of sections, question types and choices before the exam day.
• Learn how marks are distributed: the marks in brackets tell you how long and detailed each answer should be.
• Practise competency-based questions: CISCE papers increasingly test application and reasoning, and our paper carries questions in the same style.
• Build exam-day timing: one full attempt under timed conditions shows where you lose minutes.
• Find weak areas early: questions you cannot answer point directly to the topics you need to revise.
• Understand marking: the answer key supplied with the paper shows how marks are credited for steps, keywords and diagrams.
How to Use the ISC Class 12 Artificial Intelligence Specimen Paper Effectively
1. Complete at least one full revision of the Artificial Intelligence syllabus before your first attempt.
2. Download the first paper and print it, so the attempt feels like the real exam.
3. Sit the paper in one go for 3 hours, plus 15 minutes of reading time, with no notes or phone.
4. Evaluate your answers against the answer key supplied with the paper.
5. List every mistake by type: concept gaps, careless errors, presentation and time management.
6. Revise the weak topics, then attempt the second paper after two to three weeks.
7. Follow up with the CISCE specimen paper and full-length practice papers for wider coverage.
Suggested Time Plan for the Paper
Stage | Suggested time | What to do |
Reading time | 15 minutes | Read every question, mark your choices and plan the order of attempt. |
Short and objective questions | 60 minutes | Answer quickly and accurately; do not overwrite answers. |
Long and choice-based questions | 105 minutes | Attempt your strongest questions first, with full working, diagrams or examples. |
Final review | 15 minutes | Check units, labels, question numbers and any skipped sub-parts. |
This works out to roughly 2.57 minutes per mark. Adjust the split to match the section marks printed on the specimen paper.
Expert Tips to Score High in ISC Class 12 Artificial Intelligence
• Dry run every Python snippet line by line and write the output exactly as it would print.
• Learn the formulas for precision, recall, Gini impurity, IoU and Dense layer parameters until you can apply them without hesitation.
• Show every step of a calculation, since most marks are given for the working.
• Tie every case study answer to the stated setting, such as the mill, the hospital or the bank.
• Practise forward passes and one-step weight updates by hand for small networks.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
• Judging a model on rare events, such as fraud or machine failure, by accuracy alone.
• Forgetting that OpenCV stores colour images in BGR order and uses hue values from 0 to 179.
• Fitting a scaler on the whole data set before splitting it into training and test sets.
• Leaving out the bias when counting parameters or computing a neuron's weighted sum.
Preparation Plan for ISC 2027 Artificial Intelligence
