ISC Class 12 Robotics Specimen Paper 2026-27

The ISC Class 12 Robotics specimen papers are full-length practice papers written by the Future Topper team on the paper pattern set by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), for students appearing in the ISC board examination. They are built on the published Robotics syllabus and its unit weightage, and show the type of questions, the internal choices and the marks carried by each question.

Robotics is one of the newest ISC electives. CISCE introduced it for Classes 11 and 12 from the 2025-26 session, alongside a separate Artificial Intelligence subject, so the 2027 examination is the first ISC board examination in Robotics. The Class 12 course applies the Class 11 groundwork on mechanisms, computing and control to real robots in healthcare, agriculture, smart manufacturing and space.

For Class 12 students, solving the Robotics specimen papers is one of the most reliable ways to understand the board's expectations before the final exam. On this page you can download both ISC Class 12 Robotics specimen paper PDFs, check the latest paper pattern, see which topics the paper tests and follow a practical plan to use the paper for maximum marks.

How the Question Paper Is Structured

The syllabus fixes the theory paper at 70 marks and three hours and weights the units Introduction (design and selection of robots, ROS and Gazebo, robotics ethics) 12 marks, Robotics in Healthcare 16, Robotics in Agriculture 16, Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0/5.0 16 and Space Robotics 10. It does not publish a section plan, so our papers use a layout built on those weights. Part I (20 marks) is compulsory, with ten 1 mark questions and five 2 mark questions, four marks from each unit. Part II (50 marks) has one Section per unit, Introduction 8 marks, Healthcare 12, Agriculture 12, Smart Manufacturing 12 and Space 6, and you answer one of the two questions in each Section, so every candidate's paper carries exactly the syllabus weights. Questions ask how named real systems work, their components and advantages, with case studies and a few short calculations that apply Class 11 ideas.

Always read the instructions printed at the top of the specimen paper. They state which questions are compulsory, how many questions to attempt from each section and whether any special materials are allowed. We word them to match the board paper.

Topics Covered in the ISC Class 12 Robotics Specimen Paper

Our specimen papers draw questions from across the prescribed Robotics syllabus. The main areas you should be ready for are:

•       Design and selection of robots: payload, reach, degrees of freedom, environment

•       Basic ROS: nodes, topics and why ROS is used; simulation in Gazebo

•       Robotics ethics: accountability, privacy, safety, employment, autonomy, environment

•       Healthcare: da Vinci Surgical System, robotic ultrasound, exoskeletons, assistance and rehabilitation robots

•       Agriculture: seeding and spraying, weeding, harvesting and pruning, monitoring and sensing robots

•       Smart manufacturing: manipulators, cobots, AGVs, welding, 3D printing and security robots

•       Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0

•       Space robotics: Mars rovers, Chandrayaan-2, probes and landers, Gaganyaan Vyommitra, Canadarm2

For the complete unit-wise list with sub-topics, read the ISC Class 12 Robotics Syllabus.

Why You Should Solve the Robotics Specimen Paper

•       Understand the paper design: you see the order of sections, question types and choices before the exam day.

•       Learn how marks are distributed: the marks in brackets tell you how long and detailed each answer should be.

•       Practise competency-based questions: CISCE papers increasingly test application and reasoning, and our paper carries questions in the same style.

•       Build exam-day timing: one full attempt under timed conditions shows where you lose minutes.

•       Find weak areas early: questions you cannot answer point directly to the topics you need to revise.

•       Understand marking: the answer key supplied with the paper shows how marks are credited for steps, keywords and diagrams.

How to Use the ISC Class 12 Robotics Specimen Paper Effectively

1.     Complete at least one full revision of the Robotics syllabus before your first attempt.

2.     Download the first paper and print it, so the attempt feels like the real exam.

3.     Sit the paper in one go for 3 hours, plus 15 minutes of reading time, with no notes or phone.

4.     Evaluate your answers against the answer key supplied with the paper.

5.     List every mistake by type: concept gaps, careless errors, presentation and time management.

6.     Revise the weak topics, then attempt the second paper after two to three weeks.

7.     Follow up with the CISCE specimen paper and full-length practice papers for wider coverage.

Suggested Time Plan for the Paper

Stage

Suggested time

What to do

Reading time

15 minutes

Read every question, mark your choices and plan the order of attempt.

Short and objective questions

60 minutes

Answer quickly and accurately; do not overwrite answers.

Long and choice-based questions

105 minutes

Attempt your strongest questions first, with full working, diagrams or examples.

Final review

15 minutes

Check units, labels, question numbers and any skipped sub-parts.

This works out to roughly 2.57 minutes per mark. Adjust the split to match the section marks printed on the specimen paper.

Expert Tips to Score High in ISC Class 12 Robotics

•       Learn each application under the same three headings the syllabus uses: working principle, components and advantages.

•       Tie every design or ethics answer to the situation in the question rather than writing a general list.

•       Keep a one page sheet of real systems with their facts: da Vinci parts, Chandrayaan-2 elements, rover power sources.

•       Practise short calculations such as signal delay, battery time, coverage time and trip counts, always with units.

•       Give every component its job in that particular robot, since the marks are for the role, not the name.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

•       Calling the da Vinci system an autonomous robot instead of a surgeon controlled master and slave system.

•       Mixing up a probe, a lander, a rover and a space station robot.

•       Dropping units, or mixing seconds and minutes, in time and distance answers.

•       Listing components without saying what each one does in that particular robot.
