CBSE Class 12 Physics Sample Papers 2026-27
Prepare for your Class 12 CBSE Board Physics exam (Subject Code: 042) with 20 full-length sample papers, each structured exactly on the standard question paper pattern — 33 questions, 70 marks, 3-hour format. All questions are original and aligned with the complete Class 12 Physics syllabus.
What's Inside
Each paper follows the standard five-section structure: Section A (12 MCQs + 4 Assertion-Reason, 1 mark each), Section B (5 Short Answer, 2 marks each), Section C (7 Short Answer, 3 marks each), Section D (2 Case Study questions, 4 marks each), and Section E (3 Long Answer, 5 marks each). Internal choices are provided in Section B (2 questions), Section C (1 question), and all three questions of Section E. Every paper includes a complete step-wise solution following the standard marking scheme.
Topics Covered
Questions span all major chapters of the Class 12 Physics syllabus — Electrostatics (capacitors, electric fields), Current Electricity (resistors, circuits), Magnetic Effects of Current, Electromagnetic Induction, Alternating Current (phasor diagrams, AC circuits), Electromagnetic Waves, Ray Optics (refraction, lenses, TIR), Wave Optics (Young's double slit, interference), Dual Nature of Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei, and Semiconductor Electronics.
Difficulty Levels
Papers are organised across three levels: Easy (Papers 1–7), Medium (Papers 8–15), and Hard (Papers 16–20), allowing students to build confidence progressively before tackling the most challenging questions.

Reviews
Electrostatics and Current Electricity coverage is thorough. Capacitor and circuit-based questions appear at the right difficulty level for board preparation. Step-wise solutions make every answer easy to follow.
Capacitance, energy stored, parallel plate calculations and combination circuits — capacitor questions appear from Electrostatics and link well with Current Electricity. Good inter-chapter coverage.
The Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current sections are outstanding. Phasor diagram questions and AC circuit problems are exactly what boards demand and this material delivers them well.
Electrostatics and Optics papers are particularly strong. Step-wise solutions are detailed and useful. A few more graph-based current electricity questions would be ideal but overall excellent.
Radioactive decay law, half-life calculations and binding energy per nucleon questions are clear and appropriately challenging. Good attention to a chapter that carries reliable marks.
The questions and solutions are of genuinely good quality and the subject coverage is thorough. The overall visual design and layout could feel more polished. Still a solid recommendation for board students.
The five-mark derivations and explanations in Section E show how to structure answers for maximum marks. Presentation in Physics derivations directly affects marks and these model answers teach that.
Boolean algebra, common emitter configuration and diode characteristics appear with appropriate variety. Semiconductor Electronics is a chapter where students either score everything or nothing.
Photoelectric effect calculations, de Broglie wavelength problems and work function questions appear at varying difficulty levels. Good reinforcement of a conceptually tricky chapter.
Impedance, resonance frequency, power factor and phasor diagram questions appear with proper calculation steps in the solutions. Strong coverage of a chapter many students find difficult.
