SSC Delhi Police Head Constable CBE Syllabus
The computer based examination is the only stage of Delhi Police Head Constable recruitment that produces marks. Everything after it, the physical test, the typing test and the computer formatting test, is qualifying.
Two streams sit under the same paper structure and differ in one section. Ministerial candidates answer English Language. Assistant Wireless Operator and Tele-Printer Operator candidates answer General Science in its place.

Sections
General Awareness
Current events of national and international importance, Indian history, geography, polity and the Constitution, economics, general science, sports, awards, books and authors, plus important days. Questions on Delhi and on policing appear regularly and are worth preparing deliberately.
Quantitative Aptitude
Number systems, HCF and LCM, decimals and fractions, percentage, ratio and proportion, average, profit and loss, discount, simple and compound interest, time and work, time and distance, mensuration, along with basic data interpretation. Class 10 standard.
General Intelligence
Analogies, similarities and differences, space visualisation and orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, number series, non-verbal series, along with coding and decoding.
English Language, for Ministerial posts
Spotting errors, fill in the blanks, synonyms and antonyms, spelling, idioms and phrases, one word substitution, sentence improvement, active and passive voice, direct and indirect narration, para jumbles, plus comprehension passages.
General Science, for AWO and TPO posts
Physics, chemistry and biology at school standard, with the emphasis on everyday scientific principles rather than specialised theory.
Computer Fundamentals
Elements of a computer and its organisation, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, operating systems and file management, internet, browsing, search, email, along with basic cyber safety.
Choose your stream before you prepare
English Language and General Science are not interchangeable. A candidate who prepares one and sits the paper containing the other loses a whole section.
Decide at the application stage and prepare accordingly. The other four sections are common to both streams, so only that one block changes.

How to prepare
Computer Fundamentals is the highest value block in the paper. It appears in the written test, in the formatting test and indirectly in the typing test, so learning MS Office properly serves three stages at once.
General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude overlap almost completely with Delhi Police Constable and SSC CHSL preparation, so candidates working towards those exams are already most of the way there.
Start typing practice in the first month if you are applying for a Ministerial post. Thirty words per minute is comfortably reachable with daily practice over months and awkward to reach in weeks.
