SSC GD Constable Syllabus

The SSC GD Constable CBT has 80 questions for 160 marks in 60 minutes, split evenly across four subjects. Each correct answer earns 2 marks and each wrong one loses 0.25. There is no sectional timing.

The syllabus is set at Class 10 level. After the CBT you move to PET and PST, then a medical exam and document verification. The physical stages are qualifying, so your merit rank comes from the CBT alone.

SSC GD Constable subject-wise syllabus

General Intelligence and Reasoning

Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualisation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, blood relations, directions and odd one out.

General Knowledge and General Awareness

Current events, sports, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity including the Constitution and scientific research. Questions are pitched at what a Class 10 student reading the news would know.

Elementary Mathematics

Number systems, whole numbers, decimals and fractions, fundamental arithmetic operations, percentage, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, time and distance, time and work plus mensuration.

English or Hindi

Basic comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms, error spotting, fill in the blanks and sentence formation. You pick one language.

PET and PST

Men run 5 km in 24 minutes. Women run 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes. Candidates from Ladakh have separate timings. Height and chest standards vary by category and region.
